# D&D Docket — versions

Every update to the docket gets its own version number, and a line here saying
what changed. The app shows this list under Help → What's new, and the version
running is shown at the bottom of the menu on the left.

A copy of each version's program (never the register) is kept in the
`releases` folder beside the program folder, as `D&D Docket v<number>.zip`, so
an earlier version can be put back if an update goes wrong.

Numbering: the first number changes for a new edition, the second for new
features or a change to how something works, the third for a fix only.

## 2.2.0 — 2026-10-11 — Urgent reminders up front, files with events
- Dashboard: the "Coming due" chart is gone. Urgent reminders now sit in its
  place, beside the portfolio.
- Dashboard: Action items, Recent activity and Needs attention sit side by side
  in one row.
- Record an event: new "Attach files" box. Pick one or several files and they
  are saved with the event. The document type follows the event chosen and can
  be changed.
- Correct an event: the same "Attach files" box, for the corrected entry.
- Timeline tab: files sent with an event are listed under it, and each event has
  an "Attach file" button for paper that arrives later.
- Documents tab: a file sent with an event says which event it came with.
- Version number at the bottom of the menu, and this What's new page.

## 2.1.0 — 2026-10-11 — New design
- New look throughout: a labelled menu on the left with folding groups, a top
  bar with search and a "New trademark" button, and each page on a white panel
  with breadcrumbs.
- Dashboard: summary cards with small trend charts, a portfolio donut, and
  tables for urgent reminders and recently worked-on matters.
- Matter page: a full-width header with the mark, its stage and the main
  actions.
- Reports and Help laid out as cards.
- Installing: INSTALL.cmd and SETUP.cmd now ask before loading a MainDB.xlsx
  found beside the folder, so a clean copy can start with no records.
- A fresh, empty copy of the program was made (docket-fresh).

## 2.0 — 2026-10-10 — The docket as in use
- The version in use at the firm on 10 October 2026, saved as
  "docket 2.0.zip": the register, event history, deadlines and reminders,
  documents, users, reports and the invoice program.
